Ball, Partners Provide Aid to Texas
The recent widespread winter storm that impacted most of Texas, and the country, left many people in our own communities in need of basic necessities. Ball came alongside many partners including CAN’d, Novelis, Molson Coors, and the American Red Cross to donate essential supplies for people impacted by the storm.
Our donations included more than 150,000 cans of water and other supplies that were distributed across Fort Worth, Conroe, Austin, and Houston, Texas.
With below freezing temperatures, tens of thousands of people in Texas lost access to clean, safe water. We partnered with other organizations to provide canned drinking water to impacted communities:
- Ball and CAN’d Aid donated more than 100,000 cans of water to Austin residents and the Houston Food Bank.
- Another 50,000 cans of water were donated in partnership with Molson Coors.
- In coordination with our aluminum supplier, Novelis, we gave 30 pallets of canned water to the Conroe, Texas, food bank as part of our broader support for CannedWater4Kids.
In addition, our cash and in-kind support to the American Red Cross provides funding in advance of disasters. This enables immediate response across the U.S. by our disaster relief partner, which is critical with many residents still without power and access to warm, indoor locations. The American Red Cross has deployed a team of first aid responders to the area to distribute essential supplies like blankets, water and food, while also operating a number of warming shelters.
Since 2017, we’ve proudly contributed more than $2.5 million in cash and in-kind donations from employees and The Ball Foundation to the American Red Cross, and the International Federation of Red Cross (IFRC) and Red Crescent Societies Disaster Relief Emergency Fund.
Throughout our history, employees have always been quick to respond when disaster strikes in the communities where we live and work. Learn more about our community impact efforts here.
