Celebration of Service

November 29, 2023

As part of our annual Celebration of Service, taking place each September, our employees were provided with a variety of opportunities to support causes most important to them through Ball’s volunteer program. Across the globe, Ball employees earned volunteer rewards – funds that can be donated – to amplify their impact.

How We Show Up

Colorado

COLORADO, USA

The infinitely recyclable Ball Aluminum Cup® team partnered with the Copper Mountain sustainability team to help restore native plants in the area. After hiking nearly one mile and collecting ten bags of various seeds, the Copper Mountain team will replant these seeds across other parts of the mountain to ensure thriving plant diversity in areas where it has been previously disrupted by human activity.
QUERETARO, MEXICO

QUERETARO, MEXICO

Ball employees took action to improve food security for those in need. In Queretaro, Mexico, 10 employees volunteered for a day to build a garden and plant vegetables in El Coyote, Colón. This community garden will provide a sustainable food supply for ten women and their children, collectively supporting over 60 people.
TALOJA, INDIA

TALOJA, INDIA

Taloja team members supported their community by providing free dental check-ups to a local school in Demodhar Village, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. “It was heart-warming to see the smiles on the children's faces as they received this essential healthcare service,” said Hema Jumani, Senior Human Resources Operations Analyst at the Taloja plant.
SAO JOSE DOS CAMPOS, BRAZIL

SAO JOSE DOS CAMPOS, BRAZIL

In São José dos Campos, Ball employees hosted educational games about recycling for students at schools in the city's municipal education network within Parque Vicentina Aranha. Through this event, our volunteers reached more than 1,000 children!
SHERBROOKE, CANADA

SHERBROOKE, CANADA

At Ball, we believe in doing our part to create a sustainable future and our team members in Canada continue to advance this commitment within the community by hosting clean-up events. During September 2023, Sherbrooke employees removed over 1,700 pounds of litter from a local park.
BELGRADE, SERBIA

BELGRADE, SERBIA

Team members in Belgrade helped winterize trees by painting the lower portions of the tree trunks white which helps prevent what is known as sunscald. This process happens in the winter when there are extreme fluctuations in temperatures causing the bark to split. The light color of the paint stops the wood from overheating and thus prevents future splits and cracks.
